My Senegal eats Hikari Cichlid Gold pellets, both floating and sinking.
It also loves Hikari Sinking Carnivore Pellets. You might want to break these into smaller pieces.
Finally, it also likes HBH Super Soft Krill.

Mine grew fastest when Petsmart was selling Neons and Black Neons for a dollar each. I also occasionally drop in a dozen Ghost Shrimp.

So they can handfeed?

Yeah, mine will actually let me kind of hold him unless he has had feeders. Then he becomes very evasive and will not get close to my hand in the water. These guys are very cool to have and mine is not aggressive at all
