Actually the pic of the ray is about 3 weeks old now and he eats like a hog now. He pounces on his food like a cat lol. He does not look skinny anymore.

Would you say he is an Orbigyni (spelling) Stingray? I bought him as a Hystrix at a local pet shop but I knew it wasn't a true Hystrix.

how is it that the rocks are suspended? look good

YOU ARE CORRECT, ORB. OR KNOWN AS THE "YELLOW HYSTRIX" AT MY LFS. 75$

The rocks are made out of foam and painted. I bought them on aquariumhabitats.com. They are siliconed to the back glass of the aquarium. They will not move. If I ever want to take them off it will be a major pain to do that but I love the look. The reason I put them on the back glass like that is to give my Stingray the most space possible on the bottom. The plants are siliconed to the bottom pretty much right on the silicone seam.

Now my only problem is high nitrites. I wish I wouldn't have let the bio balls dry out when I took them out before. Any suggestions on how to speed the cycling up? Should I do 25%-50% a day???

Wow you are lucky! My ray cost $175. The pet shop that I bought it from is always high priced though. He looked like a healthy ray at the time with the exception of being skinny. I treated him with Prazipro two times and he has been eating like a hog ever since.

hard to increase speed of cycling. you could try adding some powdered beneficial bacteria. if you must, you can try reducing feedings and water changes (good for cycling, but bad for ray).
