new set up.. tex, oscar, jack w/?

Are they slow growers?
I ask because I have one that is not growing very fast.

o ya. not very fast at all. when i had my old tank they all started around the same size and my oscars were double his size and the jack dempsey was just a little smaller than the tex. grow rate was around the same as a JD
 
i do think mine is a male my first tex had a smother dorsal line and the mouth was pointed alittle more north LOL. his fins are very i dunno it just looks more aggresive haha ill throw some pics up soon. he is kinda punking the baby oscar. but he is a little bigger . and its funny they all seem to pack together instead of haveing a territory is that cause there still all farily young?

My Tex is about the size of yours. I have him with a larger convict, but he don't take any crap from him. I'll just keep up with the water changes and good food and see what happens. I plan to move him to a larger community tank when he gets big enough. He will be in a 180 with a pair of JD's, a Red Devil, and a Trimac. I have been told this won't work, but I have witnessed stranger combinations before. If it doesn't work I will move him. The current combination is not supposed to work but they are doing well.
 
honestly, i think that that would have a chance with the combo accept for the red devil, thats the only problem i for see.. sounds good though
