Thanks! The crypts, judging by pictures I believe are Cryptocoryne x willisii Lucens. But not 100% on that.
Tanks is 38 gallons, filtrations is a single aqua clear 70, lighting as I said is low at 25watts single t8. This is supplemented by a good amount of indirect sunlight. No plant specific substrate, just silica sand. No CO2, no ferts. Just flourish excel.
Agreed, vals would like great. Would have liked to have some but last time I tried they melted. I can't say for sure if low light was the culprit or the excel but it seems to be common knowledge that excel does melt vals. Is there a very similar low light plant to vals that isn't prone to this?
