got 2 new shortbodies, pls id. Only wanted to get one to replace the one that passed away recently, and the shop owner recommended me the first one. Picked him up last week and on the way I saw the second one for about 40usd in another shop and couldn't resist, body not as nice as the first one but I like the pearling.

I like the second one a whole lot better for its color. It may or may not rank as well on the flowerhorn scale, but I'd rather have it than the first one. They're both very cool, though.

That's a steal!
The first one would fall into my category of being a ZZxMalau or just Malau. Talking about Indo Malau here in general, not Thai Malau or Taiwan Malau.
As for the second one, I'm clueless as that fish is very dark. I like the pearling for the second one too. Seems like it's going to peel. It can be a Kamfa or KK or Malau at this point. I don't know, so I can't confirm anything.
 
I love the first one, both are nice.
 
i prefer the pearls on the first 1.... damn love the short body
 
So might the second one be a kamalau or something close to that? We never did answer the question.
