My 5" Silver Aro died a while ago so I decided to purchase a new one. Today marks the 1st week of my new Silver Arowana - it is slightly bigger at 6.5" compared to my last one.

How long before I see the reflective silver sheen of the Aro like the one pictured below? Or is that a different breed?

Below is my Arowana. As you can see, it still has that brown/yellow tint color on body and tail.

Yeah the top one could be leucistic and the bottom one isn't.

I wish I knew less about this topic, as of late.

The top photo is just a light based Silver Aro, not a leucistic. If you want a shiny silver, just get bright lights. They'll look shiny.

Let me re-phrase my question then, how soon will a 6" Aro's color even out?

As for lighting, I think my Marineland Double Bright is bright enough. I guess, it's just a matter time before the Aro's colors are all even out.

It depends on it's genes, diet, water quality, etc.

Thank you. I guess I am being impatient, can't wait for my Aro to grow.

Today it took a small bite out of a beef heart cube. It probably would've eaten more if it floated. I am thinking about placing a fishing line through a beef heart cube then suspend it on top of tank. This way it remains on top of water for Aro to feed on.

Any suggestions how to keep beef heart floating? I can't do hand feeding because the Aro goes away whenever I come close to the tank.
