New Silver Aro Pics & Future Plan!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
+1 My silver went from 5 inches to about 16 inches in just one year. they dont grow as fast as rtc are supposed to, but still very fast nonetheless.

I'll move him soon. Hopefully I can get him on Tilapia and pellets in the next two weeks and get him in the 55! If not he will at least get a slight upgrade to a 20 gallon.

very nice.

Personally i would get it into the 55 right away, It will soon hit a growth spurt and it'll outgrow the ten and then the 55 in a matter of months! You'll get healthier growth by giving it more room to move around. Silvers can easily surpass 18" in the first year. Probably will only get another year before the 220 starts to get too small.

envious you can do an outdoor pond! not an option up here !

I spent two hours clearing this area out about three weeks ago. It's the site of my future pond :) ImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1390772205.683111.jpg

Arowana's are mainly surface feeders so I would recommend freeze dried mysis shrimp , small carnivore sticks, and freeze dried bloodworms:D

I've tried Blood Worms and he ate a few. When I feed the feeders in his tank he will sometimes eat a few flakes but he immediately spits them out :/ Once the feeders are all gone I'll try some more of the crickets and freeze dried blood worms I have.

Growing fast and looking great! What do you guys think of his coloring? Good? Bad? Or normal? I think the wild caught feeders are pretty nutritious. uploadfromtaptalk1390775497337.jpguploadfromtaptalk1390775478884.jpguploadfromtaptalk1390775464736.jpguploadfromtaptalk1390775444144.jpguploadfromtaptalk1390775423751.jpg

I plan on moving him tomorrow.

The stock in the 55 is

1 African Feather Fin Catfish
1 Pictus Catfish
1 Striped Raphael Catfish
2 Baby Angelfish
2 Rainbow Fish
6 Black Skirt Tetras
1 Scissortail Raspbora
2 Cory Catfish
1 Dwarf Gourami
1 Redtail Shark

Do you guys see any problems with the stock if I add the Arowana? As of right now all the fish in the tank get along great although the Redtail Shark does occasionally bully the catfish. The only problem I see would be the Aro eating some of the tetras and Angel fish but I could possibly move them to my 10 gallon.

Any thoughts or opinions are welcome :)
