Not a good time to start agreeing. LPJ does not mean it's male. While there are theories on the males jaw structure it is observed in mature arowana, the OPs aro will be nowhere near mature in 4 months.

I usually sex my fish based on the name I come up with lol.

I was torn between the one I picked up and another slightly bigger dominant one. I figured the bigger dominant one was a male. I chose the one I got because the Colors were better (tons of red on fins) and I kind of like the slender aros I see on here the best. It seems like some people over feed them, but I could be wrong on that. I noticed my tsn started to become the same girth across his entire body so I slowed it down and he looks normal again.

Anyway the aro is doing good, but is very shy and hasn't eaten yet. I had to give away all my cichlids except the baby pike because they were all picking on the aro. I'm kind of over cichlids anyway except for cichla, pike, and jags. They always create tension with my otherwise peaceful but badass oddballs.

LOL i agree with you on the second statement, but you're also wrong about the lip. The only foolproof way is to vent, which is way harder than you could imagine. Also, your aro wont be mature in 4 months, its a looooooong way to go.
