New Snakeheads... Need help with ID..

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i think they are pulchras,i have just got two myself, can you post a side view

Hi.........
This is Channa spec 5 stripe,or 5 banded snakehead...or spec Kerala....or umangii!

Different names for the same fish.........you can choose!

It is not neccessary to keep them with a heater, because they are subtopical!

Start breeding at a temperature of about 21°C

Prefer lower temperatures!

They are mouthbrouders, the same way gachua and stewartii are doing it!

Maximum size: 22-25cm

I will post a picture of mine!

Cheers
Pascal Antler

Thats a really long list of snake head you have!:)

Thanks for the info....

These guys decided that the ground was better to spend the night...

I'll be getting some more soon...

Any tips on keeping them from jumping out..?

Hallo,Weylin.........

It is better to inform yourself BEFORE you get any snakeheads!!!

Everybody who want to keep snakeheads should know that snakeheads are jumpers and that they need completly covered tanks!

So this is your own fault!

Cover the tank before you kill any other fish!!!
