Ok, because some people that have that species of gachua are keeping them in subtropical temps, and that they were supposedly collected in Myanmar (nobody has been able to provide an exact location point though). The pictures of the specimens that I saw that were kept in subtropical temps had more intense coloration, but this could just be due to the fact that your fish is settling in. I'm kinda hoping that it really is a tropical channa as it will be easier for me to keep if I can get my hands on some, but gachua as a whole are pretty tolerant of temperature. BTW, congrats on acquiring a nice channa.

im keeping my channa fire ice in subtropical temps and the colours are alot better than the pics shown here.ive had them now for a month and they have setled in nicely.
