New Speices!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They said its related to other freshwater rays from that area so will probaly be similar in appearance to those rays, grayish brown pointed front ect., and will more then likely get to big to keep it most home aquariums

The pic looks like a SW blue spotted ray...

The species was named Himantura kittipong and the Stingray was recorded at 60 centimeters (23.6"). At the moment scientists are saying that the chances of the species surviving are very slim because the rivers they are found in are very heavily polluted.

Looks like it is up to aquarists to keep it alive!

The ray in the pic is not the one that they are taking about in the article. Its a blue spotted marine ray Taeniura lymma, the newly discovered ray will probably be a dull drab looking ray in comparison.
Asian freshwater rays are never as colourfull as their south american cousins :)

I had a feeling it was a salt water ray. If we cant trust media with pics of rays, what can we trust them with !

That is a pretty interesting article. Cool they found a new ray, but to bad the waters are polluted.
