Hi all.

I just got my new leopoldi stingray in. I spent an hour and fifteen minutes adjusting him to the new tank via drip acclimating. I didn't want to new him out of the transport container, so I poured off excess water and gently poured him into the tank.

The back of his disk is slightly curled up when it wasn't in the container.
Please tell me this isn't death curl. Is he just adjusting and stressed, or is this the death curl?

I don't know what I did wrong here. Please help!

It isn't curling up any more than what is shown in the pictures. Is this just stress from shipping?

Probably a little stress. Would keep ur water steady and keep an eye out for other tankmates.

The only tankmates in there system are a bunch of small live-bearers that helped cycle the system a few months ago and have evaded capture to move them somewhere else and another ray that came in a week ago.

I have the room as dark as possible and no lights on. Is there anything else I can do?

Just wait it out.

From my experiences when they are just curling the very back of the disk like that they are minorly stressed. The death curl is obvious. Hopefully the fish will be fine. Always very stressful acclimating new rays. Like kno4te said all u can really do is wait it out as long as all your parameters are good. Also i dont notice an airstone in the pics, and it looks like you're just running an fx6? I would be pumping extra o2 for sure. Best of luck man.

Is lifting the front of his disc a bad sign? It's almost like he is smelling. He had what looked to be a spasm this morning, but has been moving around a little bit.

Just nervous with the most expensive fish I've ever had.
