I am currently setting up my 75 gallon and am gonna let it cycle for a few weeks.

I was thinking of doing a HRP pair, Neetroplus Panamenis Pair, and a Green Terror.

My other option I was thinking was buying a bunch of 1" Midas and growing out to get a single or possible pair.

What yas think?

A midas pair would be awesome or a single male. I would want a lil bigger for the pair later on down the line but a 75 would be ok for a while

I think having the two small breeding pairs and the GT would be a little much. I'd limit it to either one pair or just a solo fish, however if you opt for the Midas pair, you'll need a bigger tank in about a year or so.

Do you have plans if the pairs start breeding?

I have a empty 40 gallon breeder I can raise the fry in or even relocate a pair to if things got crazy.

So you dont think I could get away with the two pairs in the same tank?

I think you can get away with two pairs in that size tank honestly. Both fish don't get very large at all. Only thing is panamensis are extremely nasty from what I have read. I think you should switch out the HRP for something a little more aggressive. As for the midas unless you are willing to upgrade I wouldn't get any. A pair should have at least a 6ft tank and IMO so should a single specimen. These are large powerful fish that need their space.

I'd do just the single GT, and a bunch of cool dithers. IMHO, and 75 isn't that large, and I prefer to just keep 1 medium/large size cichlid in a 75.

Or just a single breeding pair of something SMALLER than a Midas. (Ex. Lyonsi)
