New Substrate

Thought about today and I guess I decided to go with a new substrate.

I went with Schultz Aquatic Plant Soil.

Now you're going to find you don't have to add ferts to the water column quite as much (I'd still keep an eye on potassium however as most aquatic substrates don't take care of this).
 
very nice! does anybody have any experience with using this for extended periods? how long does it take to get depleted?

did you get a new light as well or just turned on the 2nd bulb?

I took out the stock 20w T8 and put in a 24in compact fluorescent bulb, hopefully this will make a big difference. 6700k @ 55w.
