warm water drip is just as easy for me to set up as the cold water. i went with cold water as everyone told me that it was best as it would not allow solids into the tank. i didnt use an added filter to my drip as the spicket i connected to is after my house filter that I run carbon on.

I use cold water on mine too, but I'm in Orlando so I fight heat as opposed to cold. As far as heaters go, I like Eheim jagers but regardless of brand, a controller like a Jehmco is a little extra insurance. they are bulletproof, whereas most heaters internals are a little finicky and prone to failing. Usually on

most of the time my heaters fail they continue to us the power like they are running at full strength have the light on but stop heating the tank.

Ranco, jehmco

is there a certain model i should be looking at for either of these. when looking them up online there were lots of them listed but was having trouble understanding the difference between them.

where my tanks are located i have access to both 110 and 220 power so.....

I believe the diffrrent models are just for different power ratings.

Yeah that's the issue with heaters. They will entuallly fail. With A controller it's not often. The heat gets thrown at the heater without cooking things ........

Cooking things sux

last bulk head bought for second chamber will be adding that to the sump when I get some time off. I also bought a ranco controller that should be here by wednesday. I am going to be using a hotwater heater element for the sump and have it controlled by the controller. Let me know if there are any concerns I have seen alot of people with ponds using this. The only issues I have found in research is when using salt it can corrode and since I have cats in most of my tanks salt isnt an option.

My ranco controller came into today. I got it all wired up with a power strip.

so now its pic time

first I drilled the hole and installed the bulk head
