One of the carpenters working at the house's friend caught 2 live swamp eels that bred and produced thousands of elvers 2 months ago. He decided to give me one which I then named Sarah since I heard that all swamp eels are born female. Could anyone here give me some tips on how to take care of it.
Ex: Maximum size growth etc.
Its currently residing in a 40 gallon tank with my 9-inch giant snakehead and my 8-inch silver arowana. It is about 14-inches long as of now. I'm planning on transferring it along w/the snakehead and aro. to my old 1000-gallon pond that is undergoing repairs.

I have several of them at different sizes, from 1 inches to a 3ft one. From most sources, they grow to around 3ft long or 1m. They are great escape artist so keep the tank securely covered or raise the tank level to about 1/2 the fishes length, they can be trained to take food from hand even if your hand is above water. I kept mine without any form of filtration, they can withstand elevated ammount of ammonia, I feed my Swamp eel tubifex worms (when small), bloodworms, Hikari floating food sticks, Carnivore tablets, massivore, shrimp, live feeders etc. I am able to comm my 3ft swamp eels with endler guppies and cherry shrimps. Above a certain size they do not seems to see them as food although it would take the larger female guppies.

When it was a wee little fish at 3inches, I was feeding it with defrosted bloodworm from a squirter, so it was trained to come in response to anything around its tank. At this point it would try anything I put into the tank, to investigating my fingers when i place it above the tank. It became natural for me to try hikari foodsticks at this point.
