NEW TANK! 750 Gallons :)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Interesting tank, Bob. Different. Looks like you lucked out as it fits in that nook well. The con is it will be more difficult to set it up and service with the only excess from the front and it being so high and limited room between the tank top and the ceiling.

If you will, consider making a thread (or update an existing thread) on what has been happening in your 3K so we all learn from your experience. That'd be quite generous of you to let us learn and try to avoid the costly developments you have witnessed.

I would love to see this tank as he progresses with it. I'm sure it'll be awesome!

Sorry guys, had a few setbacks with the assembly :( The bottom panel broke upon transport :/ anyhoo, it'll be cycling in a few weeks once it's done:)

filtration will be part 1 - emerged with bioballs (DIY Bakki shower type) that drains to a sump tank (part 2) which will have pumice stones and then will run on a same-ish aquaponic system i run for my 3k twards the return pump.

Now heres the stock i'm planning

Black Aro
Silver Aro (albino)

Orino (Cichla) 5pcs
Xingu (Cichla) 2pcs
and maybe a couple of intermedias

For bottom,
this im not too sure.
MAYBE Henlei or Pearl stingrays 2-3 pcs
1 pc SOUTH AMERICAN LUNGFISH (Need more info on these)
1pc Tigrinus

IME and from very little reading on it, lungfish fins and tail are often nipped to no end in community tanks. At least my Africans are and vincentwugwg vincentwugwg AUL was to the extent he had to sell it (shocking! Selling such a hard to find fish!).

I think they'd be ok in the most placid communities. Mine is ok with an Indian swamp eel and a juvi wels.

Lungfish can also deal serious damage to other fish, they have real bony plates for teeth. I wouldn't reccomend it since it could go bad either way
