New tank 84x36x24 ... Time for a Stand build!

I will make my stand taller then, thanks for the pointer.

Look, I'm just going off of what he told me. I don't know what else to do as he has had customers have this issue. He is heavily advising me not to use foam as it is petroleum based???? I don't know. Is there anything else I can use?

He didn't tell me anything else, just regular plywood and said nothing about epoxy, but unsure what I would use epoxy on (then again I haven't looked into plumbing 100% yet so that might be used there...)

I don't know what to do :( I want to listen to the manufacturer but I want to listen to you guys too :(
 
Listen to the manufacturer to do otherwise might void any warranty. Marine grade plywood does sound like a good option. More than likely you will plumb your tank with PVC pipe, the limited amount of PVC glue will not effect it.

Any pics of your progress on the stand ?
 
Or you can just follow the manufacturer warranty requirement found here on page 5 http://www.tenecor.com/docs/TenecorManual.pdf

Marine grade plywood only. Also, there is only a 90 day warranty if you don't use a Tenecor stand.
 
Reply I got today ... Seems he is a bit irritated with me, even though I remain neutral and show no signs of ignoring his advice, which I do not intend to do.

use 3/4" plywood (no screws)
and leave it loosely on top, it doesn't matter if you use marine or regular plywood, it's meant to be slightly crushed
that is the purpose of the layers of ply in the wood
you can tell your 750 gal friend that they should be concerned, foam is a petroleum product having certain chemicals
that counter act with the acrylic (like acid) which will eat away at the bottom acrylic panel

Maybe there is another type of foam you all are using?
