New tank almost ready. Which is best for my ATF?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
ahh crap. I was worried that would be the case. Well, now to address the issue of catching the stock in my 120 and transferring it to the 144.

I agree with them, as he gets bigger the rounded corner areas would basically become unusable space for him due to his size. Kind of wasted area in the tank, if you know what I mean. I'd definitely go with the longer tank for the growout.

Well, I wanted to get him into the 5' 120 tank last night, but with the combined factors of:
1. breakers tripping from my apparent demanding electrical needs (I think it was the heaters)
2. A disgruntled wife whose Ocar watching was continuously interrupted by tripped breakers :uhoh:
3. My general exhaustion after draining the 144, moving it across the room; draining the 90; moving the 90; putting the 144 in place; refilling the 144 with buckets (both of old water, and 'warmer' decholrinated tap water)

My little brevis is now in the 144. He seems happy enough, though I know I need more current in there. I already saw him devour at least one of the 5 red tetras I had in their making sure the water was safe. I have a feeling he will be the sole occupant of the tank once I return home tonight.

The water is rather cloudy from the sand getting kicked up, but I'll try to post a couple pics if there's anything worth posting when I get home.

Just wanted to say thanks, and I didn't mean to disregard everyone advice.... I was just so....... tired.....

I know that feeling brother. lol

I'm glad you got everyone moved around and settled. I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing the pics once you're rested and the waters cleared! :D

Johnny, you should totally do a growout thread for this guy like I did with my GATF. Like I've said before, he's my favorite ATF on MFK that I don't own and I'd love to watch him grow up. If I was closer I'd love to come do a photo shoot of this guy. :)

Thanks Rob. I just might. Wifey does have that nice camera. Anyways, here's a couple quick pics.
Note: the first one is a panoramic pic of the fish side of the basement ( excluding my e cat)

Awesome, I'm sure he'll love the extra room. Hope you got the breaker issue solved, that sounds like it was a pain.

He looks great, can't wait to see him once he puts on some serious size.

I love that fish, John. He looks like he's always scowling like he's pissed off with how the light hits the top of his eyes. He's a freakin' gangster man. What's his name?

Thanks Rampage. I think the issue was all 6 of my heaters kicking on at the same time. The 1500W's they demanded were likely what was overloading my breaker. Haven't had any issues since the tanks all got back up to 80 degrees!

And Rob, a complement about my ATF coming from you always means a lot. He does always look pretty angry, doesn't he. And his jaw is always moving, like he wants to be bite something.
I named him "Baki" after this fighter from this really corny Japanese anime: "Grappler Baki"
