On that same note, floating pothos (I like the look of Golden, but you can do whatever you want as long as it's safe) look great and act as another filter, same as moss balls.
Lime (neon) pothos is gorgeous and works too but is more pricey. The 'white queen' variant is nice too...has variegated green/white marble leaves.

Alright, time to upgrade tank size! They're growing and getting feisty with each other lol!

Only fish I'll add is probably some dither fish of some sort or maybe another GT or 2.

55 vs 75 gallon......and go! Got a space and a stand picked out, Fluval FX4 ordered.

Definitely a 75. Either way a 4 foot tank isn’t ideal for a terror, but the 18 inch width of the 75 makes it possible.
I’d be wary of adding another, a breeding pair may find the space a bit cramped and 2 of the same gender wound like to share.
I’d go the dither route with larger tetras, rainbowfish, or giant danios.

If you only have space for a 4fter, I’d try for a 120 and not add anything other than dithers, but a 75 is the minimum IMO

I would suggest to skip the medium sized tank. Go for the 6ft 125 instead. With my Oscar I moved her from a 55 to a 125. You would not think that 2 feet adds that much. But in her activity level was night and day different. Changed from slowly mopping about to actively swimming.
If it's cost that's holding you back. Petsmart has them on sale several times a year. Tank, stand, lids, lights combo. I got two of them both on sale for the same price as a non sale 75, or $500 20210409_074336.jpg

Same happened with my Dempsey - difference was night and day with the extra 2 feet.

How long have you had those 125s? I’ve been thinking about those but the reviews regarding leaks and weak stands has stopped me.

I don't have them anymore, had to sell of to move. The first one I had for a couple years. The key with the stand is dryness. Keeping it as dry as possible. They are partical board. So any spot that is dented, scratched I would paint with a sealer type paint so water can't get to the board itself. Not sure if it's still the case but they have a lifetime warranty so if you ever see a spot starting to blow out due to water absorbing you can get a new one. Yes not fun to swap out a stand but warranty none the less.
As far as being able to hold the weight they seem fine to me, not exactly lite need two people to move them at the minimum. I have heard of people reinforcing the stand with two by fours. But again you probably have to open of the boards to do so and causing more of a chance to get water penatration.
