What fish would you recomend? I want a wet pet like fish, but not an oscar (I have nothing against oscars just would rather dovote the 75 to something a bit rarer)...

not exactly rare, but red devil/midas make great wet pets. so do trimacs, haitiensis, etc. you could do a breeding pair of Herichthys carpintis 'escondido'. these are gorgeous fish and would do great in a 75 gallon.

Right now the only way I'm putting one fish in the tank is if its the 40 breeder. That will change if somebody could show me an amazing fish that would be cool in the 75 gallon. Also can anybody answer my question about the GT in the 40 breeder, and the CA community in the 75?

Thanks
Mike

Oh and for the 75 gallon, what kind of cichlids should I do for a CA community? I was thinking a JD, texas, salvini, con, and firemouth?

When fully grown that would be too much for the 75. Although I have no experience with them (yet) I have heard that the Texas are too vicious to be kept in a community tank, The JD, Con and either the Salvini or the Firemouth would probably be more realistic.

Personaly I like the Henrichthis Carpintis (Blue texas cichlid) pair idea myself.

The GT would probably be fine in a 40g breeder

When I first got my 75g I was going to do a GT pair, but ended up going with a Jag. I have yet to regret this decision. Right now he's pushing 6" and plays nice enough with the SDs and Con in there with him.
