just picked me up a 72 gallon bowfront :D

I love bowfronts, and we got this at a good price because the stand had minor cosmetic damage *grin*

but for now, all I get to do is plan what it will look like.

curse this broken leg!!!!

nah, this isn't gonna be for photographing.. simply a display only :)

we picked up a great deal on it, so i'm happy.

as for fish, we're looking at south american cichlids at the mometn.. maybe some angels, or apistos..

heavily planted of course.

Lisa, Tall Super-veil tail angels look HOT in that type of setup. I know that tank pretty well, have been looking at one for a long time. A few angels and a bunch of Rummynose tetras, and long Vals in the back. That is AWESOME!!!! Oh, and a ton of cory cats and ottos.

Like this (the images are old, sorry, I still have those fish but not planted anymore):

don't forget to add a keyhole cichlid in there! those are among my favorites. i've kept these angels before, and they are very nice. i always thought they'd be a little more docile than they were though. they grow kinda fast also. i'm jealous. :) i want a new tank too!

hey paradise :

freshly delivered tank - we bribed one of the guys from the store to deliver it for us :)

i know, crappy shot, but i had a crappy lens on at the time (someone broke it - and i'm testing it to see if it is salvageable - don't think it is though)

A new tank is so exciting ;-)
You think of all the fishes you've always wanted to keep and then you start imagining how it might look. Then you pick up your favourite fish book and you're lost . . .
Happy planning!

hey Lisa, if you have the $$$ to spend, this would be a perfect tank to do one of those "european style" backrounds and the whole "Planted tank" setup, using heated substrate and all that. Those backgrounds are *****ing and with a bowfront you still get plenty of room. Or you can do it the inexpensive way, by putting a plastic sheet to protect the back glass and then putting slate pieces vertically as a wall, ala Alan's setup here but all the way:

Then plant around it. That looks HOT!!!
Oh, I wish I had that tank :-) I have actually been salivating over their Wavefront tank. Have you seen that one? It's a different version of the bowfront. Nice.
