i know some might think im stupid but a nice male convict would also be great.
in my opinion if given the space and proper nutrients they do look really good.

I opted for the sajicas instead of the cons, just because I've been looking to keep them myself, but yes, a pair of cons would also do well, although there would be more aggression in this case.

And to the OP, yes, I meant a male/female pair, but if you weren't looking for that you could do same sex just the same. If that were the case though, I'd prob go one male sajica and either a con or firemouth or something, just for the variation.

Tell me about it. I had a convict that aggressively terrorized my Oscar.. Like it was trying to eat him.

I really don't want to breed them. Also, I don't want a species of fish that would add to the aggression in my tank. unless it's them destroying their dinner :D

i stay away from breeding pairs. some get very aggressive when laying eggs and protecting them. you could end up with a few dead fish. i would go with 6-7 silver dollars and maybe a Blue Acara, or maybe a school of boesemani rainbows.
As for temp i keep my jd tank and oscar tank 79-80 degree f. from what i have read, higher then 80 can have harmfull effects to their health in the long run.
