So I finally set up my 125 gallon african set up for my grandfather. I used HTH pool filter sand for the substrate. I grabbed rocks from a creek than goes through our property, after a good scrubbing I dropped them in. I think I need more rockwork, but I am not entirely sure due to the tanks shere size. All the is on the tank right now is one Emperor 400, but I have 2 Fluval 405's on the way as well as 2 Fluval 150 watt heaters. As far as the PFS goes though, I am WAY happy with it. Cleaning was a breeze, and there was no debri flying around the tank when we filled it. I'm still in need of a black background too. Ill put that up soon. Oh, and I do have a question in all this. Will the 400 and the 2 Fluvals be enough water movement? Or do I need something more?

Looks good. I think it could use a bit more rock work as well.

The filters will be enough movement.

You need about 10x that amount of rockwork though. Go to your local landscaper or nursery. You can get river rock etc for .10/lb and up. My 125 African tank has about 300# or rocks. Grand total: $48.

just a few more rocks and a few plants for additional hiding places..looking great though..looking forward to it done and seeing your fish..:D

looks good, but put a black background on it... more rock... movement will be fine, depending on the stocking list we may put in a powerhead, that will kick the poop to one stop for easy clean up... unlike mine with takes a lil more work...(mbuna) not the peacock tank...use water to move waste to a pile....

Yes, Ill put the background on it soon as I can. I'll add a litttle more rocks, maybe twice what I have in there now. Oh and I put eggcrate in there too, great stuff.

Build the rocks up higher, but I already think it looks great, especially once you add the black background.

Nice work, can't wait to see a finished product with residents.
