Look my best looking show tank. Was a planted discus tank it was a 180. And i kno being for lower De its not easy to find all the monster fish that they have on this site. But i did pull it off with a black 14" aro and like 6-8 wild caught disc. That ended up being around 4-5" round. But i gave up my first born for the fish, lol, never do that again

That is an idea, but like you said DE is not the best place to find fish. Just out of curiosity, any good pet/fish stores in slower lower (I kid, I kid)? I'm from Newark and the pickings are very slim up this way.

Either way thanks for the input and nice to meet another member from the first state.

Going Africans certaintly shouldn't be to challengeing. Otherwise a pair of sa/ca cichlids would also fit the bill. Not a huge cichlid fan myself other then my pikes. maybe go brackish and get a G tile eel? maybe do some smaller Bichirs?

personally my fire eels steal the show the second would be my bichir. My neice loves visiting so she can feed the eels. and even my non-fishy frineds eyes bug out when 3 happy fish come to the tank front to beg for worms. and My bichir are just clowns to watch.

I was always a very big fan of polypterus. Is there something going on with importing them though? I used to own quite a few and they were readily available around here but as of late I haven't seen any.(sorry if that's a dumb question I just really have been out of the hobby for a couple years).

Thanks again for the input.

Not sure if there is importation issues, or they've just become that much of a moneymaker that they're getting shipped to other countries. I've noticed around here you can get Sens readily, dels, and ornates aren't to challengeing. But the rest aren't all over but not impossible to locate. I haven't seen an Endli around here, But I haven't looked all that hard either.

I do have 2 LFS that can get me some stock in slower lower. But sometimes it takes 3-4 months. But i do know a place in Jersey where you can get any type of discus you can think off, wild, bread, whatever you want. And i have a place online i can get some rare africans. Other than that i go up state, and still dont have much luck. Most of the things ive bought online have cost me more money to get it to Delaware, kinda sucks for fish keepers around here

cough cough THEIRS gotta be one guy to say this oscar it up. great personaly its big and pretty and a show pet. its a lil dog thats always in water.

Yeah you're very right. The only time I've actually not had a hard time getting fish around here was when I hat an importer living down the street. At that time I was buying imported motoro rays for $40. If you don't mind me asking where do you go in Jersey? Or is it simply an online purchasing? If you could let me know in a post or PM id appreciate it because I frequent Jersey quite a bit.

Oscars can be like pups but that is only when they want to be. Many times you will find oats are sulkers just as much as they are active. I think if I was going to get a solitary cichlid it would be a midas, jag or butti.

Thats crazy ive been tring to get rays around here for forever now it seems like. I want one for my gar tank. im just not confortible haven one shipped to me from wherever, nor am i really all that happy about haven to spend all the extra money to get it
