New tank stocking ideas, Polys with Dats? Or other combos?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
So exotic only really has two dats I would consider and they are the IT at $279 for a 6.5" dat or the NGT at $159 (sale) for 6" dat. These would likely be a size that the polys would leave alone. Im basing this off when I had added the baby oscar and it was right up in their faces and no one ate him. lol

Polyaddict86 Polyaddict86 , when you say 'aggressive to other', are you meaning other fish like cichlids? This would defeat getting the fish if it would have an issue with the pearsei.

I was only asking because you've had a rough go of it lately with fish not working out. I know how frustrating that is.

I mean the are not aggressive at all, but from what i read and heard ngt sometime chases other dats, idk if this aggression will relate if you have cichlid.

I appreciate it. Ive rehomed tons of good looking fish because they picked on the Pearsei.

Ive rehomed a nice hoga, red Isletas, bifa just to name a few. I just didnt want to have to rehome a $200 dat too.

I dont know what the deal is with hulk but he just doesnt like plecos. Hes being a prick to the sunshines.

Most datnoids are chill for the most part, but some do like to establish their territory. They will push other fish around, and if it goes bad, they will fight(unless they lose then they just hide all day). They definitely can hold their own. I've kept datnoids as small as 3" with 20"+ aros, gars, and bichirs without a problem. Nobody tries to eat the little guy. They are definitely very curious fish.

Where did this Regani come from? It looks strikingly familiar.

I had a buddy who used to be into breeding all kinds of amps and he had awesome hoga pairs along with red isletas. I was fortunate to be able to get them both. Sadly he is out of the hobby for now.
