new tank. what color should i paint the back?

I've heard white and black tends to wash out the natural colors of the FH. Blue and Red usually brings out better color on most FH. I do have a couple tanks that have black backgrounds and the fish doesnt look nearly as good as the ones with the blue or even the green backgrounds.

It's true but black still looks sweet. I try not to keep flowerhorns in tanks with black backgrounds any more but I keep regular cichlids in black backgrounds. White would just look really dirty all the time. I have a piece of pvc in one of my big guys tank and that thing collects algae faster than you'd believe..
 
Black is nice. I've also seen a couple with a black speckled with a few other colors like they were spattered. They were the great looking backgrounds.
