new tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Step 1. What filtration do you plan on, and how much to what you to spend on it?
Step 2. Figure out what fish you like the most that is set for life in your tank, and branch out from there.
Step 3. Ask Monster Fish Keepers for advice.

About currency conversion: At this present time, one of our dollars ($1 AUS) is equal to 85 cents american. ($.85 US). So, that means $3000 + 15% = $3450.

Many of the monster fish in US aren't available here, but then again all our native monster fish aren't available there. Have you considered any of the perch?
Or for a true monster what about good ole Barramundi? Though I think that might get too big for even your tank, and it's not an overly expensive fish

Or theres the Black ghost Knifes, though they only get to about two feet. To tell you the truth, anything over two feet you'll generally need to buy privately and most cost big bucks.

Welcome tommy. As was said, patience is the key. A tank that size will take a while to cycle- you can use that time to plan fish.

You should be glad to see a fish in a LFS that grows over 18"! The biggest you usually see are Red Devil's, Oscar's, BGK's, Clown Loach's, Jaguar's Jardini, Vieja's, Front's, Plec's, Bala Shark's, Black Shark's, Eel Tailed Cat's and Marine Eels, Sharks and wrasse.

my question is how you found a 12' tank 3 times cheaper than an arowana?

You could try some of the local brackish water fish such as snappers
