I also add salt to my 300 (about 1 aquafina bottle worth) on every water change just in case some Ich gets bye.
I have to say that my Armatus (all the fish in my tank at that) have no problems with Ich. JMO... Salt for everything just a matter of how much your adding
G/L and looks pretty healthy thou
Actually ich does NOT come from anywhere. There is ich in pretty much every single tank unless you have some serious UV sterilization running.
First lets get to an understanding of ich in the first place. Like most parasites, ich has several different life stages and only uses it host(s) for certain parts of its like cycle. Since only part of its cycle is on the fish we can raise the temperature up to speed up its processes to release from the fish and naturally go back into the water.
A fish usually can resist ich with its own immune system. Ich gets on a fish when its stressed by something else such as a move, aggressive tank mate, or other illness which will lower its immune system.
Nice tats by the way, I should have scooped them!
