I got mine for around $55 I believe.. it was on sale tho..usually I see them for $70-$80..u also have to be willing to put in a lot of time/work if u want it to be handleable ..and consider the fact that they require fairly large cages

Thanks =) Hes actually b&w although i can see the gold looking tint in the last set of pics i posted. Guess ill go ahead and give alittle update.
I got him at 15" and ive had him just under 5mos and hes over 2' now. The last accurate measurement i got he was right at 24" and hes a bit bigger but being difficult about sitting still today. Hes still a bit skittish and hates to be restrained, he'd rather sit on you than be held. Hes never tried to bite me but he huffs like crazy and occasionally tail whips. I havent been able to keep up with getting him out for roaming time in the bathroom(only completely tegu safe room) as much lately since weve been doin reno work in there so i know thats slowed our progress but today i was able to let him out again. He always goes the bathroom when hes out and today i found out that he is in fact a boy! It was slightly disturbing when i realized what i was looking at but im glad i know now lol.
Columbians look amazing imo but they are def a challenge and people really need to research and think about what theyre willing to deal with and what they want in a 'pet' before picking one of these guys up. Even though he can be really difficult at times(my husband calls him 'the beast' lol) i knew that from the beginning and i was/am prepared to deal with it.
Ill put some new pics up in a min..

In the one pic hes in his feeding tub. Its 19"x14" i believe and youll have to excuse the ugly wall behind me in the other pic, its part of the demo process =). The 3rd pic is just him in his cage..
Yeah id read that Columbians grow pretty slowly but he's in shed almost constantly and seems to be growing pretty fast. I'm def curious to see how big he ends up getting...

I got him kinda late in the season and he hid alot at first since he was new and then it was winter and even though these guys dont hibernate like the argentine tegus they do slow down a bit so i didnt see much of him until this month really except for feeding times and when id get him out to 'bond'. Hes been staying out alot longer this month and generally hes all over the place. He'll bask for a while then go around and climb everything and try to find a way out lol. Hes been very active lately and i look forward to the summer when ill really get to see what his behavior is like. My guy really likes to climb so i want to add some levels to his cage once its nice enough to do things outside.
They are very cool but like i said before def do alot of research. Mines a handful but i have no regrets
