For the lighting I think you're gonna have to go with big pendants of some kind if you have plants, dont you think? Of course, you also need some LED's for nighttime. If you dont have any plants you could just do big pendant LED's. Forget aquarium LED products, though. You'll get a lot more bang for your buck with some LED stage lighting fixtures from Elation or American DJ or Chauvet or Coemar. You can spend as much or as little as you want on them, but all of them have massive output (no heat, no current draw), are fully controllable, and are able to produce several million colors using combinations of red, green & blue individual LEDs. That would be one big, colorful, fully programmable, badass tank! Acrylic just carries that LED light SO WELL!!

Is there a website i can check out for LED lighting? I was thinking of going that way but do you think it would reach down that deep?

You better reach REAL deep into your pocket for led lighting! Have you ever checked how much led's are...:screwy:

I would go with metal halide lighting using pendants. They do produce a lot of heat but they also put out a lot of light. There is a reason that they are the most used lights for reef tanks. They light up a circular region of about 2' diameter so for a 10' tank you would need 5 250w pendants.

Wow...amazing tank. May I ask how much is our electric bill with that tank running? I would imagine that is a $500 electric bill in the winter heating that tank. I can look up the website for LED lights but they're super expensive that make it not cost effective. You're better off sticking to T-5. They give up a nice bright light and use little power.

Probably don't need heaters when you live on that part of the globe;)

:grinno: Just two 4-ft T-5 (2-bulb or 4-bulb) light fixtures will light your tank nicely. Too bad a buddy of mine just sold a nice Tek 6-light T-5 fixture recently. Would work great for your tank

It costs zero dollar in electric to run that tank at this moment, Joe. Tanks is still empty!

LOL probobly going to end up with T5. I was thinking halides, i have a few sitting around but they put out to much electricity but the shimmering effect is nice, maybe ill hook one up for special occations lol
