I honestly have not payed too much attention to that aspect of it yet.
I will toss out a guess of roughly 14 to 16 inch though......(it hasn't had the best of life so far-Atleast that changes now)

What I do know is that is has spent more than a year in a 33 gal long tank.Mostly bare bottom with tube too small for it-Not the best of diets either.Got moved to a 33 long a few days before I got it with a sand bed-it loved it...The fish store was going out of business.The Eel ended up spending a day and a half in a cooler with no oxygen nor heat.I put it into my 40Brdr for time being why the 270 gal cycles.It will be moved to their once cycled and hopefully live a good life from here on out.
