New texas addition to my tank!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Also the festae is at the bottom of the current food chain with the jag above him and the big zonatus is untouchable at the top being double the size of anyone else. So why is the festae picking on the texas?

Festae will be trying to dominate it over the newcomer so he doesn't have to be bottom of the chain anymore.

Another route is changing all of your layout/decoration then adding him back in, it resets territories so that they all equally sort it out, instead of just solely bashing the newcomer; it sometimes works, not all the time though.

I'll try this and see how it goes. I'll let him recover a bit first though. Will it help if I add more salt to aid the healing?

I personally add salt if my fish ever have open wounds etc, though the best solution is always fresh clean water :)

My texas sadly passed away in the four foot recovery tank. He never got any better the parts where the festae had ripped his scales ended up getting what looks like it was Columnaris. Found another one which I am going to add to the tank with a marbled fenestratus and a black belt and about 8 convicts as dithers till they get settled. I think this one is a male due to no dark spot in the dorsal it's at the Lfs. You can't tell in the photo but it is from one of the local breeders and the colour is unreal. Here's my fenestratus in the four foot lol its awesome
