Hello, I just purchased my new FH last night. I got a Thai Silk. Plz help me determine if its a Male or a Female and if it is a good quality color. At what length do they start growing their "Kok"? The fish is 3 inches right now and is eating New Life Spectrum pellets. Thx for ur time.

Says who?

I feed NLS (exclusively) to all of my fish, including FH, and have for several years. No bloodworms, no frozen/live foods of any kind.

Besides, he just got the fish, and as previously stated it appears to be a female.

NLS is one of the most top rated best FH food out there on the market. So what is in your opinion saying that it is not the right food?
Here is a simple fact when it comes to feeding FH, the more loaded the food is. The better it is for your FH and NLS ingredient is loaded double of other fish food on the market. Just because it doesn't have a label that says "FH food" or a type of food that is specifically made for FH doesn't mean it isn't great for FH. Good food will not gain you a KOK guarantee...never. Genes is the most important factor in your FH that will give your fish a KOK or not. Food is just helping it maintain the growth as much as possible only. But if the genes don't carry it, no matter what you feed it. Barely will see any...
