Thank you for the advice, I just sold the polyterus actually before it was too late lol the other fish for the moment im not too concerned concerned they stay towards the top, but the datnoid he forsure cannot eat just because he's relatively thick

what would you recommend as a good cichlid tank mate for this big guy? I was thinking of possibly getting him a big jaguar cichlid or even maybe a big flowerhorn for a tankmate longterm ?

Gonna have to be big and not very aggressive. Like an oscar. If you get a. I've jag you can do that. Flower horn unlikely. Pbass.

ya the jag seems like my best option in my opinion too, I feel like the flowerhorn might pick at the catfish too much, I have a 6 inch jag male at the moment in another tank, maybe i'll grow him to 10 inch and put him with the catfish

Seems my typing was screwy. I meant if you get a nice jag. I'd say it's a better option than the flower horn most likely but it the best option of a tankmate

ya jag does seem like the way to go.. either that or get like 4 texas cichlids which wont grow bigger than like 8 inch each
