Do juvenile fatf and batf have different feeding habits? Because when my tiger goes after bigger goldfish he can't easily swallow he will attack it and drag it around by the head then let it go over and over.. It sounds like batf behavior but I'm curious if fatf does it too

So I have been watching my tiger eat this goldfish all night long. it started by him just attacking and dragging it around by its head and progressed to him biting its back and letting it go until it died. then he let it float there dead or at least floating and unable to move for about 2 hours before he finally went and swallowed it... has anybody had a fatf do that?

That means the prey item is too big for it to eat, and is also indicitive of FATF behavior. A BATF would simply bite the tail off then bite chunks out of it.

This makes sense because the newer pic that you posted while I didn't have internet clearly shows that the fish is a FATF. The dorsal fin insertion is way in front of the pelvic fin insertions and there are only two scales between the lateral line and the pelvic fin insertion.
