My tiger took about a week to start taking bloodworms and even now its been like 6 months now and he eats great but still one of the skinnest rays I have. My ph is at about 7.6 50% r/o water and both my flower and tiger have been doing great in it but I used to have problems having a stable ph when I used 100% r/o and thats when I did some unexpected deaths. So I would try and watch your ph readings and keep them stable. :)
Right now I'm mixing ro and then tap to reach a kh of 30-40 ppm after that add ro right, discus essential and then blackwater extract, preheat to tank temp and I'm doing 15% water changes daily to keep water parameters good. Today is the first day I'm leaving the tank completely uncovered. I've put a blanket over the tank and then slowly been exposing more and more of the tank to light to reduce stress.
Have you been able to get your tiger to eat anything but bloodworms?

Yes just recint I tried some chopped up earthworms and some red worms and he really liked them. I mainly though feed him blackworms though before and he loves them. The flower so far has been mainly a blackworm eater which sucks so hopefully she will start eating the bigger worms soon.

Would love to have access to blackworms here to get them started but 3 hrs each way is a little far and every time i get them shipped they're always dead. Good to hear you have them on other things it'll be putting on weight fast now;)

I offered chopped earthworms to my flower right off the bat and she started eating them and now loves them. If you get them stuck on blackworms then I have heard it is hard to get them to accept anything else.

ive never had a problem going from black worms to earthworms.....

Sis was going thru Calgary the other day and picked up a couple pounds of blackworms. The tigers took to them instantly. Still having no luck with any other foods. There active and looking good so I'll keep pushing at other foods. What is the main diet that most of you tiger owners are feeding?

Rays don't really mind high pH. However they really dislike big fluctuation in pH, especially freshly caught flower, tiger etc.. Just my 2ct :)
Actually all my other rays are doing great in the high ph water (around 8.5-9) except when myself and a few other ray keepers around alberta have brought in flowers and tigers before they wouldn't take to food. This is the first time I've tried using r.o. to keep the the ph down and soften the water and they look like they're doing great and are alot more active than the other flowers I've had in before. It may just be the rays came in healthier this time.

skynoch, if you dont mind me asking ware do you get your rays? i live in BC and iam about to get a motoro(normal price here is about $200 BAs has then for $150 and had a "flower ray" about 10" for $400 but i dident take a good look at it)iam just wondering what other rays go for in canada and ware are good places to get them?, iam comeing out to alberta in august for the reptile show but always looking for fish too;)
