Here they are...

Sorry for the low quality photos. Had the lights off and didn't want to use flash.
Here are some better pics than the ones above since I tried to take them with the light as low as possible.

This is after a week and they both finally took MPs. I feel very lucky and proud since the seller told me he could not get neither of them to take anything but feeders. Leo had little problem taking them after a couple of days. Max had me worried and did not take MP until 3 day ago. Now they both take MP with the lights on.

Leo has perfect parallel stripes on both sides and Max has broken pattern on his right side. It'll be interesting to see how they morph.

Hey nice Tig!

I was thinking about doing too (removing the gravel). Thinking about doing black tiles. But they are kinda pricey.

I feel lucky mine ate frozen shrimps, but it did take some patience. What I did was to buy a pipe for them to get comfortable to hide in. (read that they like to hide and dash out when they see a prey) Once settled, I used tongs to wiggle the cut up shrimp back and forth the end of the pipe the Tig was facing. That'll lure them out a little. Then I just had to make the cut up shrimp move a little like a fish. At times, I even placed the meat right on the snout of the stubborn Tig. Took a few days, he even spat it back out the first couple of days after biting on the shrimp. But on the third day of biting/spiting it out, he took it and since then he's been taking it straight away. Next step will be to train them on pellets.

Care to share your experience with the fish lice? Symptoms and treatment (dosage) for future reference (knock on wood)? :)

he is my thread about the fish lice.... http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=358083 ... was thinking about getting off the live food when this happen... you can see the fish lice they are external and you will seeing them crawling as well as the fish rubing on everything... the first pic is of my clown knife with the fish lice and the second is 4 days after i started treatment... they were on the tig i have too but not bad at all... they were all over the clown...whatever you use to treat for the fish lice it has to have difubenzuron (also called dimilin) what i used is Jungle labs parasite clear tank buddies... for some parasites you treat once 2 days then water change and treat again... for fish lice and anchor worms you treat once a week with a 25% water change weekly and treat for 3 weeks... but heard it might be better to do as long as 5 weeks due to the eggs and life cycle of the parasite... I have taken all the gravel out so i'm only going to treat for 3 weeks since there is no where for the larva to hide... the only down side to this stuff is it truns your water a green tint... but it works really well... hope you don't have to deal with them... not hard to get rid of... but every parasite sucks...

as for the shrimp feeding... the tongs i have used as well.. i tried the same and was hitting the tig on the nose with shrimp as well... couldn't get mine to try it... but last night i cut up talapia, shrimp, and scallops... saw him thinking about it after i turned the lights off for a while and went to bed... this morning woke up and most of what i put in was gone. (i put a lot in so everywhere he went it was there)... so hoping the trying will lead to eating it like yours did... people aslo have said to try garlic on the food will help as well... the tiger shovelnose i have went to perpared food on the first try... so hopefully the tigrinus will follow

Buster - did you just drop the massivore in the tank?

Cc247 - thanks for the info and congrats on getting rid of the fish lice. I've read of so many disasters from medicating Tigs since they are so sensitive. So it's good to hear that full doses of parasite clear did not affect them.
