Thanks man.

Anyone happen to know if the blue on the cheeks means that they're stressed or happy? Or does it not mean anything at all?

mine when i first got him was about 6 to 7 inch long and a little blue on him but it went away now... don't know if it was because he was stressed from the trip or if it is something that goes away with size... might just check your water conditions to make sure... but if they are eating and acting ok i wouldn't be worried

Thanks guys. :) They are really cute, I wish they weren't nocturnal. I want to give them a place to hide, but I want to see them too. LOL... (kinda like keeping plecos, I have over 10 in one of my tanks, but I don't even see them unless I sneak up on them at night)

I am taking a break from getting rid of the gravel and plan on putting in some tiles. :) Will post some pics soon.

how big are they?? mine used to always hide when i first got him... he was between 6 and 7 inchs... now he is just over 10 inch or so and he's hiding spot is plenty big enough for him to still hide all day, but now he is always out and about... when he gets tired he just goes to the corner of the tank (where i got the pic of him from) so he is always visible... hopefully yours just need time to get used to the tank and get a little bigger then come out like mine... i also have a tiger shovelnose that is almost 10 inches but never ever comes out with the lights on... if you scared him out he freaks til he finds darkness... lol... so it probably just depends on the fish... goodluck
