New tip on getting dats stable

Light sensitivity is a common reason for unstable datnoids! I just dimmed my light to the point where they felt comfortable, then gradually raise the amount of light going into the tank! The process took about 2 weeks for me! After this they became consistently stable and shown an increase in activity!


At first mine seemed a little light sensative, but now they are fine. So i agree with needing to get comfortable,
Also you mentioned once water tempature droped... What is your tempature at normaly?

temperature is normally 84. it dropped several degrees despite the several hot water changes i did. the tank is back to normal and the dats are wanting to eat but it's best to eat 24hrs after the outage to feed them
