Well I finally broke down and got me a little Tire Track. I had a quite large one about 12yrs ago & have missed him. After browsing through all your pics, I got the bug. LOL I also had 2 fire eels back then but I lost both of them due to bacterial infections. I assumed they were very sensitive but after seeing how many people have had great success with them, I may have to pick up one of those as well.
My little guy here is only about 3" or so. He's already trying to chase around some tetras. :nilly: Too cute.
I'll post some more pics as he grows.

Real strong, dark pattern on him.Has it eaten for you yet?

As far as adding other eels, especially a Fire, I'd advise against it.
Specimens from this group are really hostile and violent towards other eels.

Keep us posted.

Yes it's eaten. It likes earth worms & I have an endless supply.

I've read so many posts saying that if you raise eels together while their small that it could work. Are you not on that boat? I know it's no guarantee but I'd like to give it a shot. I'll run a poll and see what we get. If it most likely will not work, I won't try it.

Thanks,
Joel

Oh, "I'm on that boat".Too bad I had an Armatus and a TT together for a year.
The Armatus hit sexual maturity and that was the end of my TT.
Found his 14" long lifeless body one morning.I knew who had caused that.
Happens out of nowhere.

I'm not trying to burst your bubble man, but you have to understand, in the wild adults can swim away from each others boundaries.

In a tank, it's kill or be killed.
Besides, as majestic as that TT will look when it gets bigger, you won't want anymore.

I had to ask a store to order one for me. All I could find was Zig Zag's, Peacocks, & way over priced Fires.
