These are some of the ones I am looking at;

Cobalt Blue - Metriaclima callainos
Red Zebra - Metriaclima estherae
Kenyi - Metriaclima lombardoi
Electric Yellow - Labidochromis caeruleus
Black/White Calvus - Altolamprologus calvus

I would love to do Frontosa but no one around here sells them.

why not order a Frontosa from online? i know some places online that i believe have them..

Okay Kenyi are nasty possessed by the devil fish tyically. Colbalt blues can be aggressive.
Start with the least aggressive & the smallest first then anything you like that attends to be aggressive & grows quick last. Obvious reasons.
Yellow Labs or other Labidochromis are good starters but just go with one of the group. Acei, Rusty, Placidochromis, Otopharnx, trimitochromis are decent mixes.
Melachromis, Nimbochromis, cynotilipia afras are some of the trouble makers.
Tangs- Lamp, Juli, altos are good but grow super slow. Fronts good but need a larger tank down the road.
Do some more homework before jumping in.

Here's a link to a great site with pics, you can see what all the africans look like when mature. That really helped me do better research to find compatible tankmates and still get the beautiful colors/shapes/sizes i was looking for.The website shows CA/SA as well as africans. Good luck, i love my africans..http://www.pbase.com/pschia/cichlids&page=all

my 55g is stocked with acei, kenyi, red zebra, yellow labs, ob zebra, ob peacock, swallowtail peacock, and two peacocks thats still need to be i'd'd..... as long as you provide plenty of rock work the mbuna will not badger the peacocks. i feed veggie flake and spirulina...arrange the rock work to break line of sight and a peaceful tank is achieved... looking into haps now.. check em out

long term mixing peacocks and mbuna does not fair well for the peacocks. The fins of the peacocks get torn and then slowly they become stressed as the mbuna get closer to full size.
