I agree with what james99 has said in this post.

Some believe that for a truly successful tank containing auratus and other super-aggressive species would be 72" long with 3 species and 1m:7f of each. Also lots of strategic aquascaping.

awesome thanks! looks like I'll have to hold off on that plan. I think I won't get any more mbuna for awhile and just raise these guys as singles for now until I get more experience with them.

I know these guys do best in groups but I'm used to keeping single wet pets and for now I'd rather just gain experience from keeping them without having to deal with any casualties. I'm gonna move them to my 75 when the kenyi starts harassing the yellow they will share that with a convict and a 2.5inch dovii, then i'll move the dovii when it starts getting too big and perhaps convert the 75 into a kenyi/yellow lab mbuna tank. I have a spare 90 that ill put the dovii in temporarily when it gets bigger, I'm hoping it turns out to be female so she can last a year or two in the 90 by herself until she needs an upgrade.

I'm not sure keeping them as singles means there will be less risk of casualties. I would not combine yellow labs and kenyi in any size tank since both males are yellow.

Thanks! What I mean is this:

After 3 weeks of quarantining, I'll put the Kenyi and the yellow in my 75 gallon. When they get bigger and show more aggression, I'll separate them, put the yellow in the 29 by itself and keep the kenyi in the 75. I thought they were about 2 inches but they are only about 1 - 1.5in right now.
