I'm using the hikari brand one.
Bingo. Hikari is very commonly used. They have floating pellets, or you can use their floating aro sticks. Only downside to this is, hikari pellets/food sticks smell HORRIBLE. When i say horrible i MEAN horrible. It turns my house into a zoo whenever i open the damn bag...

lol, thanx for the advice i will wait when they are 6 inches, my arowas are so spoiled they eat market shrimp and canadian clam

LOL they do stink. Your lucky your arow eats prawns and clams. Mine only eat crickets. Sometimes I wonder if its getting all the nutrition it needs.

I have been Keep Aro for over 6 year now and I found out that it is best to get then eating pellet asap. the best way is to get then fatten up first them starved then until they eat the pellet. Now don't get tempted to give then what they want until they are taking the pellet. Pellet got all the vitemine it need. Don't wait until your fish is too big it gets harder and longer. My XB took 2 month before it started eating pellet. Now it takes it like there is no tomorrow. Now she only get criket and frogs as a treat. I am now trainning my red to do the same but he is younger.
Good luck

hikari floating food sticks is where its at... smells good to me.. like fish.. i base what i feed my fish on smell.. if it smells like fish to me then im gonna assume they like it.. it it smells like bread then its cheap crap with all fillers and is probably crappy for the fish..

When I feed my arow pellets, he doesn't eat it right away. He eats it when I walk away and it takes an average of 15 minutes for it to eat. Is it fine to keep doing this? But for crickets, once I drop it in, he takes it within a minute.

if your aro is 6" and you want it to eat pellet. Stop feeding it anything else, it will be ok for a week or longer without food. usually take around 4 days for them to start "eat and split" it out. then after that 1 or 2 pellet and so on. Or you could feed it with chopped market pawn like i did to all my aro. drop a small piece in front of it one at a time if it not eat it then again and again until they catch it before it hit the bottom and they will know its food from there on out.

if your aro hasnt tried other food, dont worry about it,just stop feeding for 3-4 days and try other food, maybe your aro is still getting used to the tank
