awesome but can someone tell me what is this Cycling thing? i might have a clue of what it would be but not really sure, leaving the tank on and operating without any fish for a day or some more to get the tank up and running for the fishy? lol...

like I said, you need to start by understanding the nitrogen cycle

check the rest of the forum everything is explained, just need to read a little and welcome to the hobby try to do everyhing you can for your fishes health

It's not that hard to understand really, biasically you feed the fish, the fish poop which turns to ammonium and that along with decomposing plant matter becomes nitrites this becomes nitates which are bad for your fish so when you have nitrates you need to do a water change.

Also like some people said on this thread you may want to start out with a fish that is easier to keep, oscars were my first large fish and they will teach you about the nitogen cycle fairly quick. (Large bio load)

ic. well that isnt a problem for me because my mom and i used to do a water change for our koi fish on a weekily basis or sometimes once a bi-week when times are busy. (not taking the fish out but leaving enough for the fish inside the water and change it from there) and i still believe ill continue that

Depending on the bio-load and size of your tank you may need to change water more often thats one the points of the nitrogen cycle more fish=higher nitrate levels=more water contamination=more water changes.
