Hi all. This is my first post here. I hope to learn a lot. I just got a 125 gallon for Christmas (yay hubby) and my first thought was I could have a BGK. Now I need to find other fish to go with him. Here is what I was thinking. Please let me know what you think.

1 BGK
4 Severums
1 Fire Eel
4 large gouramis (Moonlight, honey, etc)
1 Paradise fish (he has to be rehomed and I think this is the only tank he will not terrorize)

I will be setting up the tank this weekend, so I have time to decide while it cycles. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

Depends on size of BGK. Only real issues will be that it gets enough to eat and if there are location problems between it and the eel. Mine is in with angels and a senegal bichir and the only problem is when the bichir tries to go into his home.

Hi,
I have a BGK with a Clown kNife and some severums etc. Dont have any issues whatsoever, but have read that It might have issues finding food if the other fish get too aggressive, I also have 2 Gouramis in with it, but getting rid of them (swopping both for a Clown Loach).
Mine is quite cool to watch, especially at dusk :)

Hope you get your answers.

I keep my BGK with 2 angels a striped raphael and a spotted cory. I was worried about food with mine too, so for awhile I distracted the other fish with some food and fed him with a turkey baster, but now I don't bother most of the time. He's definately not shy about getting what he wants, and I've even seen him eat flakes when they sink to the bottom of the tank.

Get the biggest bgk you can find in your LFS (if possible). You can put sengal bichirs, and any spiny eels in them (at least get the smallest you can find). Severums are always happy to see you when they are hungry so if you are gonna feed the bgk, the severums might get there first. Avoid fin nipper fishes and don't get fishes that grows fast.
