New to big tank keeping

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
for the tank at the business you wont get anything more beautiful than asian arowanas, it would be hard to set up some sort of perpetual feeder colony in any tank, as you mentioned, because in a tank the parents and babies have no where to hide/ run away to. (unless you set up another set of tanks for fry raising)

im partial to clown knifes too, graceful and primarliy active at night, so you could light the tank with moonlights and the affect in the club would be amazing

I have to admit, I chuckled at my own thought of stocking with a zillion tetras. Not a bad idea though.

  yeah plant it and then fill it with 800 hundred thousand fancy tail mollys.....better yet put that tank to use with only one male betta!

are you talking about the home tank or the wont for da club?

When I replied to your post, it was centered around the club. I still have to flesh it out. Planning for a club can take YEARS. While I derive plans for it, I am going to go and test it out on a smaller scale at home. Regarding the HLW, I know that fish are used to different environment like you said.

In order to build the club one, I must build my home one first. Then I can apply from what I know about the home one for the much larger one. So, I need help with the home one first.

Now, I just need to find the ideal ratio for Albertan fish.

ohh, sorry.
if you're goping to do a three hundred...
i would do a couple of spotted bass and some sort of crappie or sunfish (bluegill if you like 'em) i wouldn't do trout because they like preistine FLOWING water and are kind of hard to feed. good luck with both though. what kind of fish have you kept before?

What kind of fish? I think you meant reptiles. I used to have a mixed colony of brown and green anoles. I eventually gave them away to local kids when I had to move a few years ago. Surprisely, they are all still alive. I also kept various species of snakes and geckos.

Now, I am stuck with a mid-aged dog, a year old kitten and a 15 years old rabbit.

Far as fish go: mollies, guppies, and tetras when I was young. A couple of medium-sized catfish in a 30 or 40g tank, then my old cat figured out how to move wooden weight on top of the cover. I came home and found them on the ground with gnarl marks on them.
