Thanks-

I know koi are too large and active for this tank or any that I own.

I think we are going to go with 4-6 shubbys, Wakins and comets.

We much prefer their shape and activity levels.

From what I’ve read Ryukin and fantails have the best chance with single tails.

Fancy’s are starting to look like balloon mollies to me and I don’t think I want them any longer
I would only go with one of each then. So only 3. Seems crazy when they are babies, but they grow fast.

Thanks-

I’m close with my local fish store.

Already talked about me growing out a group and trading in the extras in 6-12 months.
I always buy groups of fish and sell/trade extras based on either maintenance or aesthetics.
I’ve got an anubias mother plant in the tank right now.

I’d be happy with a Shubunkin, Sarasa and gold comet. I’ll probably start with 6 and widdle down based on growth/personality etc.

Yeah I like the look of the red caps-
I don’t know what will happen, 3 weeks until my store stocks pond fish
Check out some of aquarium co-ops older YouTube videos. He has a goldfish tank in the background of some of them with some beautiful “blue” veiltail orandas in it with a giant crinium in the middle of the tank. Almost makes me want to do one.

Yeah I like Corey’s videos he’s done more for the hobby than ANY other YouTuber. He keeps fish ppl can actually keep, is reasonable and truthful without being boastful- and he never made a video about his past where he all buy says he threatened witnesses

Lol I take it you’re not a king of diy fan.
My only problem with diy is that my little cousin now has two red tails and a tiger shovel nose in a 30 gallon and thinks he’s going to build a tank for them like Joey has.
But his turtorial videos have helped me tons.

I’m back and forth on that one-
Been watching him for like 8 yrs.
His old build videos are better.
Since building the gallery and frank he’s become almost a reality tv personality with fake drama and supplements.
That being said he did a video last week with a hysterical intro telling his dog honey to make sure she is always underfoot. I can relate to that
