new to cichla, need id please

i think others are right...it's prob a red bay snook

reds are very common around here...PetSmarts all around have them, but greens are much more rare and MUCH better looking, IMO
 
the second isnt a pbass, how much did you pay for it?

and i agree its a bay snook
 
I paid 23 dollars for it. Now I have to decide if i'm gonna keep it or try and exchange it for a real cichla. Thanks for the help on the id everyone.
 
yes your snook will be ok with your cichla..

and no.. do not take it back, if it's a regular snook they are nearly impossible to get for any amount of money, and if it's a red bay snook they go for between $30 and $40 depending on size and where you get them. $23 is a deal?
