New to cichlids! Blue Acara and Firemouth?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I dont think it matters as long as you do it right. Id personally do the dithers then once your tank is cycled move the acara and like a week later the FM. I've never liked the standard orange sword tails but I saw a few at the lfs that were white and red and they looked so cool.
Why would you move the Acaras first and then the firemouth? I guess I’m not sure what the difference is in moving them separately or together.

1 bio load if you move them together you may stsrt another cycle. But if you continue dosing mb7 anyway shouldnt be an issue.
2 I'd move the acara together just in case you have a "pair" .
3 of the fish the FM will be the most aggressive having the others in the tank first will help establish the less aggressive fish and the fm will be the "new guy" it's probably a non issue but could be.

Okay, good to know. Thank you for your help.
